CBSA - Blueprint 2020 Report - December 2016
Growing the economy and keeping Canada safe

The decisions we make at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) directly affect the competitiveness of Canadian business. Specifically, we protect industry from economic injury caused by unfairly traded imports, while facilitating the movement of legitimate trade into, through and out of Canada. In the last few years, we have transformed our commercial and trade programs to better address increased trade volumes, rapidly evolving technology and a more complex operating environment. Through initiatives like eManifest, Single Window Initiative and CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management, we have streamlined our business so our officers can focus on high–risk goods and people. In fiscal year 2015-2016, the CBSA facilitated the entry of over $600 billion in commercial goods (over 90% of total cargo transmissions were provided electronically, through eManifest). Such initiatives will lead to the CBSA being a recognized global leader that enables economic competitiveness through secure, effective and innovative border management.
